8th Graders Use Makerspace for 9-11 Symbolism Project
In honor of Patriot Day, Mr. Mike Foster's and Mr. Andrew Murphy's 8th grade U.S. History classes completed a lesson on American symbols. They discussed how and why those symbols represent America. They tied this discussion into the topic of September 11th. As an extension of this lesson, students went to the Middle School's Makerspace to create symbols that represented themselves. Under the guidance of Library Media Specialist Mrs. Jen Kosior, students created their symbols using either the Canva website or their own drawings. Then they chose from a variety of options, including sublimation coaster, cardboard creations, and 3D Pens to make their symbols come to life.
