Charlie, Director of Pawsitivity

Charlie

Meet Charlie -- the Middle School's therapy dog! In 2023, Charlie completed the requirements to become a certified Therapet through Animal Friends. Middle School Principal Dr. Becky Bragan is the owner and official handler of this lovable Labrador Retriever.

The simple act of petting a dog has been shown to lower blood pressure and heart rate, according to studies. The goal of having a therapy dog is to help outcomes for all students and to build an environment where kids want to learn and grow. Charlie works with students daily to provide comfort, build self-esteem and help them develop a stronger sense of connection to the school. He also visits the classrooms to serve as a loyal listener, helping students increase reading fluency.

We are excited to have him as our "Director of Pawsitivity", and we look forward to the ways his presence will continue to benefit our students and staff!
